NYFW Fall 2019 Round-Up: The Good, the Bad, the Fugly
It's again that time of the year where I spend half of my day on Instagram Live watching NYFW shows, and the other half meticulously researching the newest trends based on street style and more. This season, I have noticed kind of a shift: half of the show attendees have opted for a more casual get-up, whereas the other half decided to go all out (see below: Xenia Adonts' reflective powersuit). I am a fan of the latter. In an age of minimalism, where Kim Kardashian's home looks like a scene from "Get Out" and different shades of beige are thrown together on a whim, I miss the extravagance at NYFW that only New York's style elite could bring to the table. So, this is my ode to the extravagant: those who killed it, and those who should maybe reconsider ever leaving the house dressed like that. I was going to do a post about the Emmy's, but that whole red carpet lineup was so disastrous that I will spare you all.
Let's start out with Xenia Adont, who has quickly become one of my favorite style icons. Her uncomplicated style always brings something special to the table, and this was no exception with this insane reflective suit from Sies Marjan. Little tip, they have more special items that please the eye.
Charlotte Groeneveld shows us that not all stripes make us a tiger, but we can be just as fierce. Loving this coat more than any other coat I've seen (I say this about every coat). A true winner by Longchamp.
This Area getup has me so excited for summer I've basically already booked a whirlwind trip to Italy. Look 5 from the FW19 show, and it really should get the respect it deserves.
Listen, Danielle Bernstein is literally one of my favorite bloggers of all time. What I'm not quite understanding is the choice to pair this gorgeous Zimmerman dress with her gorgeous Joe's Jeans (she's designed them herself)! This shows that sometimes, two rights definitely make a wrong.
Gala Gonzalez in my eyes can do absolutely no wrong, and I'm fairly sure denim lovers worldwide will agree with me: this denim combo by Alberta Ferretti paired with a tiny Dior clutch is textbook perfect.
I know I said I wouldn't include any beige or simple, but this gorgeous dress by The Row needs to be seen! And worn! The Row has always had a talent for sleek, but this one takes the cake. If I could, I'd include the whole collection, but I promise I'll just share this beauty.
I doubt that any Oscar nominees are reading this, but if you are: please, please, choose this dress. Oscar de la Renta's whole collection was a dream, but this dress deserves a red carpet moment.
