As houndstooth and checkers are taking over NYFW and LFW, I picked up the print on a mini skirt, perfect for Miami's 95 degree weather. Although the pattern is pretty bold, it can be paired with almost anything (keyword ALMOST, don't go rogue and mix the print with cheetah). You can find skirts like this in almost any store right now, some options are here and here. My skirt is from Zara, and you can buy it here.
Who run the world?
Blazers, apparently. I paired the mini skirt with a sweet black blazer. I prefer my blazers to be longer so that I can layer them. Paired with these cute two-toned shoes, I instantly elevate the skirt to a cute preppy ensemble, perfect to rule the Upper East Side with Blair Waldorf. Another option is to pair the outfit with over-the-knee boots, which you can find here.
Back To School...over and over again
Back to school styles are as inevitable as the falling of the leaves. You can make your own life easier by purchasing a collegiate jacket and I am willing to put money on the fact that you'll be bringing back this bad boy every fall. I chose a softer version of the jacket from Anthropologie (I wish I could just move into one of those stores). Paired with cute sneakers and a backpack, this ensemble is ready to take you all the way through grad school.
There's not a lot that can beat vintage. As we recycle looks over and over again, the classics take over. I got this white button down from Instagram ( @piavintage) and I've worn it so many ways I've lost count. There's so many vintage accounts on Instagram, but that's a blog post for another time. Here I pair the white button down with my favorite pumps from All Saints. You can buy similar ones here and here. The buttons on the top add a fresh feel to the look, while the pumps pull the whole look together. I had to show this off in a mirror pic since my photographer (also known as my patient boyfriend) was unable to capture the outfit.
