All eyes were on the red carpet last night as Hollywood’s best and finest strut down the red carpet. This year, an ongoing theme was prevalent- black. Women and men alike draped themselves in black and wore a pin - TIME’S UP. In recent news, we have heard of more and more sexual assault, discrimination and harassment that women continue to have to endure. After Hollywood’s leading men’s demise, women have had enough. We make less, we do more. We don’t feel safe walking home and can’t even consider the workplace a safe place. Hollywood has decided to take a stand and show its stance by uniting in wearing black and using their platform to raise their voice. Time’s Up includes a legal defense fund which is intended to help less privileged women seek legal counsel against their abusers. You can help the cause by donating to the GoFundMe which can be found here.
In the meantime, this still is a fashion blog, and as inspired as I am by these women, I am also inspired by their dresses. Here are my top picks for the night.
My ABSOLUTE favorite, Diane Kruger in Prada

Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji

Laura Dern in Armani Prive

Nicole Kidman in Givenchy

The timelessly elegant Helen Mirren in Zuhair Murad

Dakota Johnson in Gucci (I HAD to show both sides)

Jessica Biel in Dior

Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton

My lil lady boss, Millie Bobby Brown in Calvin Klein

Issa Rae in Prabal Gurung
