The Year In Trends So Far

Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.

As Miranda Presley once so iconically said, florals for spring is no longer newsworthy. Year after year, editorials and brands alike post their floral collections for spring. Now, don't get me wrong, I love romantic florals as much as the next girl {I'm looking at you, Zimmermann}, but this year some other spring trends were making headlines as well. Whether you rock these trends already, or are looking to spruce up your style, here are some trends that have been leading this year {so far}.

Lace

Speaking of romance, lace has been making an iconic comeback and it has been beautiful. The Met Gala had some stunning lace options {hi Zoe Kravitz} and of course no one does it like Maodnna. I tried the trend as well, and pulled a beachy look together. I paired this white lace For Love and Lemons dress with some Fraye denim mules and a beauty hat to pull it all together. I linked some similar dresses in all price ranges below {do you guys like the price displayed in the items I link? let me know!}

Belt Bag

Some call it the glorified fanny pack, others own 10 of them already. The belt bag has been taking the streets by storm and is such a fun and easy trend to take part in. This trend works with jeans, but also loose dresses. Plus, your hand are free and you can participate in all sorts of fun activities without having to worry about losing your stuff {festivals, anyone?}.

Geometric Bags vs. Straw Bags

The votes are in and it is undecided! Both the crazy geometric bags and the summery straw bags have been around the wrists and shoulders of every fashion it-girl. Or, do both with the iconic Cult Gaia bag, truly the best of both worlds.

Denim

We've been in a pants-craze lately so it really makes sense that this season we are turning to denim. We've got flare, distressed hems, white {so classic} and cropped jeans that have been on most of my Instagram feed. Try the trend with a distressed hem and pair it with a loose blouse and stilettos, or take it to the beach with cute wedges. BONUS: a cropped flare jeans is sure to pair well with 99% of the items in your closet.

Slim Sunnies

Unless you've been living under a rock, you must have seen the HUGE surge in sunglass trends. Rock a red cat eye comme Kendall Jenner, or some white 60s style sunnies like Aimee Song. Either way, you don't want to be caught without a statement pair of sunglasses this spring. I've linked my exact pair below {they are a STEAL}.
